BATON ROUGE -- The story of LSU players, coaches, and faculty providing aid to thousands during Hurricane Katrina will be highlighted in this week's episode of "Football Saturdays in the South," presented by Lincoln Financial Sports.
The show will air in Baton Rouge on Saturday at noon on WAFB-TV, Channel 9, and throughout the state at other times.
As the football season kicked off helicopters were transporting victims of the hurricane to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center where nearly 15,000 patients were being cared for. The transition from the disaster to the football field was hard on each player but the team kept their morale high. The show will highlight the LSU football team's life-changing season. From a year that began with tragedy to a season that was an inspiration to the entire state, Saturday's episode of "Football Saturdays in the South" tells the story of the LSU family.
"Football Saturdays in the South" is hosted by Tim Brando.
