BATON ROUGE -- The LSU track and field teams will carry a pair of top-five national rankings into this week’s NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships as the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its final power ranking Monday afternoon.

The Lady Tigers have held firm at No. 3 in the USTFCCCA Top 25 rankings for the third-straight week, while the Tigers have climbed three spots this week to No. 5 in the country.

The Lady Tigers are the top-ranked team from the Southeastern Conference heading into the meet as they are joined in the final power rankings of the 2009 outdoor season by No. 5 Tennessee, No. 14 Florida, No. 18 Arkansas and No. 20 Auburn.

The SEC has proven to be the premier conference in the country once again as the Tigers join No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 6 South Carolina, No. 11 Kentucky, No. 13 Mississippi State, No. 15 Auburn and No. 20 Georgia in the final men’s power rankings of the year.
