BATON ROUGE -- Archie Manning, the former quarterback for the New Orleans Saints and the father of two Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, will headline this year’s LSU Football Coaching Clinic, which will be held March 26-28 on the LSU campus.
Manning, who finished third in the Heisman Trophy balloting in 1970 and was then later selected with the second overall pick in the NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, will address the group of coaches at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 at the LSU Football Operations Center.
The 2009 clinic includes high school state championship coaches from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
Registration for the clinic begins at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26 at LSU Football Operations Center. Following LSU’s football practice that day, LSU coach Les Miles will welcome the coaches at 7 p.m. at the football operations center followed by breakout sessions by position at 7:15.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27 at the LSU Football Indoor Facility with the clinic beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a presentation by Chavis.
Miles will address the group at 1:15 p.m. on Friday followed by Manning at 1:30.
The clinic concludes on Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m. with an LSU football scrimmage in Tiger Stadium.
