BATON ROUGE -- LSU wrapped up its first week of spring practice here on Saturday as the Tigers went through their first live action of the spring during the two-hour plus workout here at the Charles McClendon Practice Facility.
The Tigers return to the practice field on Monday in the first of three workouts for the Tigers next week. LSU's spring drills continue through April 1 when the Tigers will hold their final workout in Tiger Stadium.
"Today was our fourth practice and we are making improvement," LSU coach Les Miles said. "We worked hard today in the heat and we got better as a team. It was a good, hard work day for this team. We have a long way to go to get to where we need to be as a team, but I like what I've seen up to this point."
Saturday's practice had the Tigers in full pads for just the second time this spring. LSU's first full pad practice came on Wednesday.
"I liked what I saw," Miles said of his team's approach to a practice in full pads. "There was a lot of competition and players flying around to the football."
