BATON ROUGE -- Keiland Williams, one of the nation's most coveted running backs, officially signed with LSU on Friday as his national-letter-of-intent was received at the school's football office just after 10 p.m.
Williams, who rushed for 1,325 yards and 12 touchdowns on 160 carries during the 2005 season at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., was rated as the nation's No. 3 running back in 2005 by Scout.com.
As a junior, Williams ran for over 2,500 yards and 30 touchdowns at Northside High School in his hometown of Lafayette. Williams was named the Louisiana 4A Offensive Player of the Year in 2004 as well as being a first-team all-state pick.
The signing of Williams ran LSU's class to 26 players as he joins 25 fellow Tigers who signed with the school on Wednesday.
