Men's Golf in 12th After 18 Holes at Valspar Collegiate

Palm City, Fla. – The 11th-ranked LSU men’s golf team is in 12th place with a total of 5-over 289 after 18 holes were played on Sunday at the 2019 Valspar Collegiate Invitational (Floridian GC).

Day One Results | Live Scoring

Garrett Barber shot an opening round 1-under 70 to position himself in a tie for 17th. Barber rolled in three birdies, 13 pars and two bogeys en route to his fourth under par round of the season. Luis Gagne checked in with a 1-over par 72 to be in a tie for 30th.

Philip Barbaree posted a 2-over 73 (T41st), Trey Winstead shot a 3-over 74 (T56th), and Nathan Jeansonne finalized the scoring with a 4-over 75 (T63rd).

No. 30 Florida State, No. 31 South Carolina and No. 6 Wake Forest are in a three-way tie for the team lead at 6-under 278.

Day two of the Valspar Collegiate Invitational is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT for the Tigers off the 10th tee. LSU will be playing alongside Texas and Houston on Monday.
