Finnegan Earns All-Around Win in Loss at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – Senior Sarah Finnegan took home her 11th all-around title and pushed her individual wins total to 51 as the fourth-ranked LSU gymnastics team fell to No. 17 Auburn, 196.700-196.275, Friday night inside the Auburn Arena.
Bars Scores 49.350 to Open
For the first time in school history LSU scored a 49.350 or higher in the first two meets of the season. Edney, Priessman and Finnegan paced the Tigers on bars with scores of 9.925. Sami Durante led the team off with a 9.825 and Bridget Dean and Ruby Harrold also scored a pair of 9.75’s.
Vault Goes 49.150 in Second Rotation
Edney led the way in the anchor spot with a 9.875 and Harrold totaled a 9.85 in the second spot of the lineup. The Tigers also used a 9.825 from Finnegan and a 9.80’s from Priessman and Sarah Edwards.
Teams Even the Meet at 147.525 Heading into Final Rotation
Following an injury by McKenna Kelley during warmups, freshman Bailey Ferrer was inserted into the lineup and competed for the first time. The Tigers were able to even the meet with Auburn after a score of 49.025. Finnegan led the way for LSU with a 9.90. Harrold started off with a 9.825 and in her first career floor routine, Reagan Campbell scored a 9.850.
Auburn Fights to Win In Rotation Four
The Tigers totaled a 48.850 in the final rotation and ultimately couldn’t keep up with Auburn’s 49.175 on floor. Both Campbell and Finnegan closed out the rotation with a9.825 to end the meet.
