Volleyball Faces Texas A&M in Final Match

BATON ROUGE – The LSU volleyball team (12-16, 7-10 SEC) will wrap up the 2018 season on Friday, traveling to Texas A&M (16-13, 9-8 SEC). The match is set for 12 p.m. CT and will stream live on on SEC Network+. Fans can access the match online through WatchESPN.com and the app. The match will also be available via live stats at LSUStats.com.
The Tigers trail the Aggies 25-14 in the all-time series. Last season, the Tigers broke a three-match losing streak to Texas A&M with a 3-0 sweep in the SEC opener. That match was in front of the fifth-largest crowd in program history of 1,691. Earlier this year, the Tigers fell in a five-setter, falling by scores of 26-24, 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 13-15.
>> It will be the final match for four seniors in Lindsay Flory, Katie Kampen, Toni Rodriguez and Olivia Beyer. These four seniors has the highest GPA as a class in LSU volleyball program history, holding a 3.864 cumulative GPA. The class has also done their part off the court, totaling 573.4 hours of community service.
>> LSU is coming off a tough five-set loss to No. 24 Missouri by scores of 19-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-11.
>> Taylor Bannister led the attack with 19 kills, while Milan Stokes and Toni Rodriguez finished with 13 and 16 respectively. Raigen Cianciulli picked up a match-high 26 digs, while Lindsay Flory finished with 49 assists.
>> Bannister is ranked sixth among the league in kills per set at 4.13. She is also fifth in points per set at 4.57.
>> Cianciulli became the fastest player in program history to reach 1,000 digs on Wednesday against Missouri. She need just two digs going into the match. She is the 16th player in program history to reach 1,000 and is on pace to become the all-time career leader in digs.
>> Cianciulli ranks second among the league in digs per set at 4.86. The Tigers also rank second in the SEC in digs per set at 15.58.
>> The Tigers entered the season with a total of 294 SEC victories. With the victory over Arkansas on November 11, the Tigers reached 300, which is the third-most in the league behind Florida and Kentucky.
