Head Coach Paul Mainieri on Giovanni DiGiacomo:
"Giovanni DiGiacomo is the next one in the long list at LSU of speedy, left-handed outfielders that can cover a lot of ground in the outfield, as well as be an impact offensive player. Along the lines of Mark Laird, Andrew Stevenson, Jake Fraley, and Antoine Duplantis, Gio has tremendous speed and instincts in the outfield and will make his mark defensively by making highlight reel catches. He will develop into a table-setter type offensive player with some underrated power, too. He will play an important role on this year's team and have a great career at LSU."
