Son of Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco, who played at LSU as a catcher from 1988-89 and worked as an LSU assistant coach from 1993-97 ... Playing this summer for the Danville (Ill.) Dans in the Prospect League, a collegiate summer league.

Head Coach Paul Mainieri on Drew Bianco:
"Drew Bianco is the definition of a gritty, hard-nosed ballplayer. He plays the game with great enthusiasm and is a baseball rat. He swings the bat with authority and will deliver many extra base hits for the Tigers. In high school, he had a reputation of being the ultimate competitor while playing three sports. The son of former LSU player and coach, current Ole Miss Head Coach Mike Bianco, he wants to blaze his own trail, yet follow in his father's footsteps and don the Purple and Gold. It should make for some interesting series with Ole Miss over the next few years."
