Cavin With Solid Second Round at SEC Championships

HOOVER, Ala. – LSU senior Sydney Cavin shot 2-under over the final 12 holes of the second round of the 2018 SEC Women’s Golf Championship to finish a 3-over 75 for the Lady Tigers on Thursday.

Cavin was the low scorer for LSU in the second round after settling down with two birdies and 10 pars to finish the round. The Baton Rouge native was followed by sophomore Monica Dibildox at 5-over 77 with five birdies in the round. Senior Claudia De Antonio at 7-over and freshman Mary Frances Chauvin with 8-over were the other counting scores.

No. 10 South Carolina took over the team lead on the Legacy Course at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Hoover, Alabama, at 6-over 582. No. 2 Alabama dropped into second at 14-over, followed by No. 3 Arkansas at 16-over 592. LSU is currently in 13th place going into the final round of stroke play on Friday.

The final round of stroke play will start at 8 a.m. CT with LSU teeing off from No. 10 at 9:10 a.m. CT with Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Live results are available at GolfStat.com.
