Tigers Take Fifth at General Hackler Championship

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C – Sophomore Philip Barbaree finished the General Hackler with a career-high tie for fourth place. Barbaree’s solid play helped the Tigers secure a fifth-place finish. Barbaree closed the tournament with a 1-over par 73 and a total of 212.

Georgia Tech secured a 5-shot victory with a total of -16, 848. Texas A&M closed out the tournament with second-place finish and a total of 11-under par 853. Virginia is in third place with a 5-under par 859, followed by Kentucky who posted a three-day total of 869.

Luis Gagne closed out the General Hackler tied for 26th with a total of 218. Freshman Trey Winstead is tied for 38th with a total of 221, while fellow freshman Jacob Bergeron finished with a total of 222. Nathan Jeansonne closed out the tournament with a three-day total of 225.

The Tigers are set to tee it up again on March 18-20th at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational in Palm City, Florida.
