HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – LSU senior Claudia De Antonio earned the first Top-5 finish of her Lady Tigers women’s golf career today at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

De Antonio shot 4-over in the final round to finish with a 1-over 214 and fourth place. The native of Caracas, Venezuela, was 1-over on the front nine, before picking up three extra strokes on the back nine. Earlier in the tournament, De Antonio posted a career-low 67 to lay the foundation for her first Top-5 placing as a Lady Tiger.

The LSU women’s golf team finished in 10th place at 48-over par over three rounds. No. 1 Alabama won the tournament at 14-over par, eight shots over No. 3 Arkansas in second. Wake Forest finished third place at 26-over par.

Junior Kathleen Gallagher was 5-over on the day, followed by senior Sydney Cavin at 6-over after both players finished the front nine at 2-over. Freshman Mary Frances Chauvin shot 8-over in the final round to contribute to the team scoring.

Up next for LSU is its only home event of the season, the LSU Tiger Golf Classic on March 23-25 at the University Club. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
