NEW ORLEANS – The LSU women’s golf team closed out their final round of the 2018 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans on a positive note. The Lady Tigers posted the second-lowest team score of the day with a 7-over par 295 and a three-day total of 897.

The Lady Tigers moved up three places from yesterday, putting them just out of the Top 5, finishing in a tie for sixth place. No.14 Florida posted a three-day total of 873 winning the tournament by eight strokes over No. 12 USC.

“I am really proud of the girls because they fought really hard this week and improved every single day,” said LSU head coach Karen Bahnsen. “Today’s round was another very, very windy day and we actually shot the second-lowest score of all of the teams competing. The team really showed their stamina and competitiveness. That is what we are striving for every single tournament.”

Junior Kathleen Gallagher finished the tournament strong, posting a 1-under par 71 on the day, putting her in a tie for 22nd place. Senior Sydney Cavin also finished tied for 22nd after finishing 4-over par, to give her a 9-over total for three days. Claudia De Antonio had a solid round of 1-over par today, finishing tied for 28th. Freshman Kendall Griffin tied for 32nd after she posted a 2-over par today, with a 3-day total of 11-over par.

The Lady Tigers will be back in action on March 2-4 at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
