Women's Golf Finishes Round 1 at Allstate Sugar Bowl

NEW ORLEANS – The LSU women’ golf team wrapped up the first round of the 2018 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans today. The Lady Tigers are currently tied for 12th place, shooting a 10-over 298.

 

The tournament field includes seven teams ranked in Golfweek’s NCAA Division I Top-25 national poll this week, including the tournament leader No. 14 Florida with a 5-under 283. Florida is one stroke ahead of No. 11 Michigan State at 4-under 284.

 

Junior Kathleen Gallagher is tied for 20th-place after the first round with a 1-over 73. Freshman Mary Frances Chauvin is tied for 31st at 2-over 74, followed by senior Claudia De Antonio tied for 35th-place with a 3-over 75. Senior Sydney Cavin completed the scoring with a 4-over 76.

 

Competition continues on Monday with a 9 a.m. start. LSU will be starting from the Tenth Tee. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
