Track & Field Sets Several PRs At Razorback Invite
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The LSU men’s and women’s track & field teams are off to a solid start after the first day of competition at the Razorback Invitational. With several stellar performances, the Tigers are currently in third place with 26.5 points, while the No. 9 Lady Tigers are sitting in seventh with 15.5 points.
Jake Norris got the Tigers off to a great start by finishing third in the men’s weight throw. His throw of 64’ 11.75” (19.79m) also earned him a personal best in the event.
JuVaughn Blake continued the Tigers outstanding performance by jumping a solid 7’ 1” (2.16m) in the men’s high jump, finishing in fifth place and tied his personal best.
In the men’s 200m dash, Jaron Flournoy, Correion Mosby and Akanni Hislop finished 2-3-4. Flournoy tied his personal best with a time of 20.98, while Mosby posted a 21.06. Hislop earned a personal record also with his time of 21.16, taking .31 seconds off of his previous mark.
The Lady Tigers today had a stellar performance in the women’s 200m dash. Five of the ten athletes competing set a personal best. Brittley Humphrey clocked in at 24.26, while Oksana Lawrence set a time of 24.79 seconds. Kymber Payne was timed at 24.75 seconds and Shayna Yon clocked in at 24.48 seconds. Zakiya Denoon, Cassondra Hall and Kortnei Johnson all set their season best in the 200.
LSU returns to action on Saturday for Day Two of the Razorback Invitational beginning with the men’s 400 meters at 11:40 a.m. CT. Live results are available at flashresults.com and the afternoon session will be televised on the SEC Network.
