WACO, Texas – Senior Ryann Foster and freshman Elyse Lavender took home the H-E-B Invitational doubles title after an outstanding 8-4 performance against Tyler’s Tamara Arnold and Kalani Soli at the Hurd Tennis Center Sunday.

The Tiger duo had the match in hand from the first serve, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead and never looking back to win their fourth consecutive doubles match of the weekend.

After winning their first three matches by consecutive scores of 8-7 against top pairings from TCU, Houston and Baylor, Foster and Lavender showed why they were the top-seeded tandem in the tournament with their decisive win in the finals.

“I’m very happy for Ryann and Elyse to finish the tournament with a doubles trophy,” co-head coach Julia Sell said. “They improved with each match and I think that it was a very productive weekend for our entire team.”

The Tigers will return to Baton Rouge in preparation for the ITA Southern Regional Oct. 20-23 at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Ala.
