MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. --- LSU women’s tennis freshmen Elyse Lavender and Eden Richardson got off to an incredible start at the 15K LTP/Charleston with a pair of 6-0, 6-0 victories Sunday.

Richardson opened up the qualifying round of competition by defeating Anna Baranovski before Lavender followed suit with an impressive double-bagel of her own, taking down Alessandra Crump.

“It was a good start for the freshmen today going 6-0, 6-0 in both matches,” co-head coach Julia Sell said. “They came out with great focus and intensity this morning and we will take that into the next round.”

The qualifying portion of the Charleston tournament consists of three rounds that will narrow the field from 64 participants to eight qualifiers who will advance to the main draw.
