Paul Mainieri on Clay Moffitt:
“I've been following Clay's career since he pitched Catholic High School to the state championship four years ago. Unfortunately, he has had the misfortune of dealing with several injuries that have slowed his develop process as a baseball player and pitcher. We think he is finally healthy and is ready to contribute significantly to the Tigers. There was never any question of Clay's makeup as he defines what a winner and a leader should be. He is a physical presence out there on the mound and competes with great ferocity. He also pitches in the upper 80s and low 90s, and when he's on can be very tough.”
