BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – LSU Lady Tiger Kathleen Gallagher posted a five-birdie round of 2-under 70 on Saturday and goes into Sunday’s play with a chance to crack the top ten in the SEC Women’s Championship at the Greystone Country Club Legacy Course.

Gallagher was able to turn the front nine at 1-under 35 thanks to some nifty scrambling with four birdies countering a bogey and double bogey in the first five holes. A birdie on the 15th hole with all pars on the remaining fine nine brought her home to tally 1-under 143 after 36 holes (73-70).

She stands in a tie for 11th place, seven shots off the pace of Georgia’s Harang Lee at 8-under 136 (69-67).

LSU as a team followed up its 6-over 294 on Friday with an improving 4-over 292 on Saturday to stand at 10-over par 586, moving up one to eighth place in the team competition. Florida posted 8-under 280 on the second day to stand at 12-under par 564, five shots ahead of Georgia going into Sunday’s final round of the event.

The Lady Tigers also counted on the day another good round from Caroline Nistrup, the senior in her final SEC Tournament, who had three birdies in an even par round of 72. Nistrup is +1 for 36 holes (73-72, 145) and is in a group tied for 23rd. Senior Lana Hodge posted a 73 and freshman Monica Dibildox had a 5-over 77.

Gallagher is tied for the tournament lead on the par 3 holes at -2, while Nistrup is tied for the best in the tournament on the par 4s at -4.

The final round is set to start at 8 a.m. with again tee times off the first tee for all groups and LSU will be in the fourth wave with Alabama beginning at just after 10 a.m.
