Dibildox Has Hole-In-One In Final Round At ASU

TEMPE, Ariz. – LSU freshman Monica Dibildox ended the PING/ASU Invitational Sunday in good fashion with an even par round of 72 that included her first college competition hole-in-one for the Lady Tigers.

The Saltillo, Mexico golfer posted the ace on the par 3, 155-yard seventh hole on the ASU/Karsten Golf Course and had one other birdie in the round to finish at 72. She finished the 54 holes at 8-over 224 and she finished second best among the Lady Tigers for the event, moving up 17 places to solo 44th after improving rounds of 78-74-72.

Dibildox’s eagle was one of eight eagles during the course of the 54-hole competition.

LSU as a team finished with a 15-over 303 on the final day to finish the competition in a three-way tie for 10th place at 27-over 891 (295-293-303).

Senior Caroline Nistrup had a great tournament, but fell just short of her 11th career top 10 as a couple of late birdies put her at 3-over 75 left her at even par 216 for the 54-holes (71-70-75). She finished in a group T14.

Nistrup finished up at even par on the par 4 holes and -3 on the par 5s for the tournament. Only seven players in the field played the par fours under par in front of her.

Kathleen Gallagher had a counting round of 4-over 76 and Lana Hodge and Sydney Cavin had 80s for the Lady Tigers.

Arizona State dominated the final round, shooting 15-under par 273 to finish as the winner at 25-under par 839, 20 shots ahead of Arizona. Roberta Liti of Arizona State overtook the first two round leader Monica Vaughn to win the event. Liti shot 68 in the final round to finish at 10-under 206, one-shot better than Vaughn at 9-under 207 after posting a 1-under 71.

The Lady Tigers are back in Baton Rouge for a one-day 36-hole event with ULM during spring break at the Country Club of Louisiana on Thursday.
