Nistrup Shoots 71 In Opening Round In Arizona

TEMPE, Arizona – Caroline Nistrup had three birdies on her opening day card at the PING/ASU Invitational and carded a one-under par round of 71 Friday on the ASU Karsten Course for the LSU Lady Tigers.
The LSU senior is in a group at T10 after the first of three rounds over the par 72, 6,337 yard layout.
Gallagher would tie for the best of the tournament on the par 3 holes, playing the holes in a 1-under par, while Nistrup was even par on the par 4 holes and 2-under par on the par fives.
LSU, which would post 11 birdies in his round, is at 7-over 295 and that is T9 with Kentucky. Arizona State and Baylor are the leaders in the team competition after one round at 10-under par 278. They are nine up on Washington and Arizona which posted 1-under 287 on the day.
LSU would also count a 5-over 77 from senior Lana Hodge.
Monica Vaughn of Arizona State is the individual leader at 8-under 64.
