NEW ORLEANS – Caroline Nistrup played 36 holes of even par golf Monday and finished the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in a tie for 16th place at 2-over par 218Nistrup opened the day with a 2-under par 70 and then posted a 2-over 74 to finish the 54-hole event with rounds of 74-70-74.

LSU had a much better day on Monday with rounds of 6-over 294 and 10-over 298 to finish in 12th place at 34-over 898. No. 1 Stanford posted a 10-under 278 in the second round and finished with a 4-over 292 to shoot a 54-hole total of 1-under 863.

No. 3 Florida was second at 10-over par 874 with Oklahoma State and Arizona at 875.

Nistrup was the co-defending champion of the 2015 event. This was her first chance to play in the tournament since she won, having missed last year with injury.

The 2016 defending champion, Sydney Cavin, posted rounds of 72-75 on Monday and finished at 13-over 229 and a tie for 52nd. Lana Hodge had rounds of 76-76, with Kathleen Gallagher rallying from a non-counting first 18 holes to record a one-over 73 in the final round. Monica Dibildox had a 76 in the second round for a counting score for the Lady Tigers.
