BATON ROUGE -- With a goal of serving a worldwide fan base on the move, the LSU Athletics Department today announced a mobile-first relaunch of the Official Website of LSU Athletics,

Alongside LSU Sports Properties and website provider, NeuLion, LSU Athletics aims for its official website to serve a one-stop resource for fans, alumni, student-athletes and more than 1.3 million visitors to sporting events on the Baton Rouge campus.

“This website was tailor built for our fans," said Deputy Athletics Director Eddie Nunez. "Our staff, led by Todd Politz, Jason Feirman and PJ Odom worked to integrate features that our fans told us they wanted like an updated design, easier navigation and more interaction. We will use the new site to share more stories, more video and provide even more information on our teams, coaches and student athletes. We couldn't be happier with the work the entire website team did, and I know the LSU family will enjoy it."

Some of the site features that were added or enhanced in the latest iteration of include:

  • responsive design that allows fans access to all aspects of the website via desktop, tablet or mobile devices;
  • a more robust and efficient navigation structure;
  • free live streaming audio and video on Live available on desktop and mobile;
  • one-click access to ticket options from the site’s homepage;
  • sports-specific social media feeds from Twitter, Instagram and Facebook;
  • a "Trending" area that highlight hot-button topics and special events;
  • a sortable archive of on-demand video on the homepage;
  • a "Meet the Tigers" module that allows fans to quickly browse the database of current and former student-athletes and coaches.

Additionally, the website will continue to feature fan resources for the school's 21 varsity athletics sports, including ticket sales, official schedules, previews and recaps, promotions and giveaways, history, stats, photos and everything a fan could want to know about their favorite LSU teams.

“One of our main goal with this generation of was to deliver consistent LSU Athletics branding and messaging across all devices," said Todd Politz, director of digital media at LSU Sports Properties. "Impressions originating from mobile devices have grown to nearly half of the website's traffic. Considering that volume, this responsive redesign of was essential in helping our fans and visitors access a vast amount of data with ease.

"We hope to deliver a mobile experience to Tiger fans that they haven't had in the past. Over the past six months, we've been analyzing and revamping our digital assets to create a better online experience for our fan base. The first step was providing free live-streaming audio and video from more than 240 events each season. This relaunch of is the next step to give Tigers fans more information at their fingertips than ever before.”

This iteration of was designed in-house by LSU Athletics' Creative Services team.

"The design is intended to be minimalist - making the news, photography and video content fill the screen and enhance our fan’s experience," said Executive Director of LSU Athletics Creative Services Jason Feirman. "We've tried to make it easier to quickly order tickets, custom-built a new upcoming events area that will be a go-to resource, and developed a new trending area to spotlight on-going events and promotions. Even further, the video area now features the latest HD videos for multiple categories, all without leaving the homepage.

"Another goal is to bring our student-athletes and coaches to the forefront with the Meet the Tigers areas on homepage. This interactive module pulls from our full database for any sport, season, player or coach."
