BATON ROUGE— The LSU men’s tennis team looks to collect its first home win of the season against North Florida at 4 p.m. CT Friday in the LSU Tennis Complex.

LSU currently has a 1-3 record on the season while UNF holds a 2-3 record.

The Tigers competed against UNF last season and defeated the Ospreys, 4-3, in a hard-fought match. LSU has a 2-0 all-time record against UNF.

“We are eager to get back in a match situation,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “Last year, we had a great match with North Florida, and they are even stronger this year.”

Seniors Justin Butsch and Jordan Daigle recently entered the ITA singles rankings at No. 41 and No. 94, respectively.

Last week, Butsch earned his first win of the season on court one, defeating Santa Clara’s Robert Seby, 6-2, 6-4. He has a 2-1 record on the dual season with a victory against a ranked opponent.

Daigle currently sports a 2-0 record on court one. He defeated back-to-back opponents in straight sets with wins against No. 35 Ryan Peniston of Memphis, 6-2, 7-5, and Sasha Gozun of South Florida, 6-3, 6-3.
