Three Named to AP All-America Football Teams

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU junior Jamal Adams and seniors Kendell Beckwith and Ethan Pocic have been selected as Associated Press All-Americans the organization announced on Monday, with Adams earning a spot on the second team and Beckwith and Pocic landing on the third team.

The trio is among eight players from the Southeastern Conference to be named an AP All-American, the most of any conference in the nation this year.

Adams is picking up his second All-America honor of the postseason, as he was named to the Pro Football Focus All-America First Team last week. The Texas native finished the regular season third on the team in tackles with 70, with an interception, forced fumble and fumble recovery to his credit.

Beckwith led the Tigers in tackles with 91 and averaged 9.1 tackles per game which was second in the SEC this season. In his last season Beckwith has also been named to the Sporting News and Walter Camp All-America lists, each on the second team.

Pocic, a finalist for the Rimington Award and semifinalist for the Outland Trophy, played the most snaps of any LSU offensive lineman this season, seeing time 680 total plays while also leading the team in total knockdowns with 92. Pocic has also been named an All-American by the Sporting News and Walter Camp Foundation.

LSU takes on the Louisville Cardinals on December 31 at 10 a.m. CT in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
