LSU Issues FAQ's About Clear Bag Policy in Venues
Assoc. Athletic Director/Communications
BATON ROUGE – LSU has released a list of FAQs that will help educate fans and bring awareness to the school’s new clear bag policy, which is being put into place at all athletic events on campus this year.
LSU’s new clear bag policy is consistent with what the NFL and other professional organizations have done for the past several years. The policy is also in line with what Southeastern Conference member institutions Auburn, Florida, Texas A&M, and South Carolina are putting into place this year. Additional SEC schools are expected to implement the clear bag policy in the near future.
LSU’s new clear bag policy allows for only clear tote bags smaller than 12” x 6” x 12” or one-gallon plastic freezer bags to be permitted in Tiger Stadium and other venues on the LSU campus this year. In addition, small handheld clutch purses will continued to be permitted into LSU venues.
All backpacks regardless of size are prohibited and any bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12”, clear or non-clear will be strictly prohibited. Exceptions will be made for approved medical needs and diaper bags (with baby). All bags will be subject to search and inspection.
LSU will be distributing 3,000 clear tote bags to fans attending Football Fan Day on Sunday, Aug. 14. Clear tote bags that comply with the new policy are also available at major retailers in Baton Rouge, including LSUShop.net.
