Football Sells Record 74,350 Season Tickets
Assoc. Athletic Director/Communications
BATON ROUGE – LSU has sold out of season tickets for the 11th-straight year, as a school-record 74,350 season tickets have been purchased for the 2014 home slate, associate athletic director for ticket operations Brian Broussard announced.
“We have sold every season ticket that we have to offer,” Broussard said. “Our season ticket demand continues to be very strong and with the additional seats in the south endzone expansion, we were able to offer more season tickets this year and our fans bought them all.”
With the south endzone expansion increasing the Tiger Stadium capacity to 102,321, LSU was able to offer nearly 6,000 more season tickets this year, Broussard said.
LSU has sold out of season tickets every year dating back to the 2004 season when 66,232 season tickets were sold the year after the Tigers won the BCS National Championship.
LSU sold 68,772 season tickets for the past three years, which stood as the school-record until the mark was broken this year.
LSU is still offering single-game tickets for home games against Sam Houston State, Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, New Mexico State, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. The Alabama game is sold out. Single-game tickets can be purchased online at http://www.lsutix.net/.
LSU opens its 10th season under head coach Les Miles on Saturday, Aug. 30 against 14th-ranked Wisconsin in the Advocare Texas Kickoff in Houston, Texas. Kickoff for the season opener is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
