AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Frank Greeff earned his second NCAA Honorable Mention All-America honor in the 200 fly on the final day of NCAA Championships here at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
The South Africa native reached the consolation final after breaking his own team record in prelims with a time of 1:43.11. Greeff finished second (1:43.46) in the final for a 10th place finish overall.
“I’m really happy for Frank and where his season ended,” LSU Swimming coach Dave Geyer said. “I know his goal was to reach the championship final for this year, but this result keeps him hungry for his senior year.”
“All in all this was a building season for our young team. There is talent here and for the rest of the school year their development is in their own hands,” Geyer added.
The 400-freestyle relay team of Alex Linge, Michael Saco, Marco Gonzalez and Greeff finished 28th overall with a time of 2:57.63.
This season the LSU men’s swimming and diving team set two school records and eight newcomers entered times on the all-time top-10 list.
