BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s basketball team secured an at-large bid with a No. 7 seed, and the Lady Tigers will play host to No. 10 seed Georgia Tech during Sunday’s NCAA Tournament First Round. Tip time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the Maravich Center, and the game will carried live on ESPN2.

No. 2 seed West Virginia and No. 15 seed Albany will meet at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday. The two winners will square off in the NCAA Second Round at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

All three games of the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds from the Maravich Center will be televised by ESPN, ESPN2 and http://www.watchespn.com/.

The Lady Tigers (19-12) earned their third consecutive NCAA Tournament bid under head coach Nikki Caldwell and the program’s 15th appearance in the last 16 seasons since 1999. Overall, LSU picked up its 23rd NCAA Tournament selection which is tied for 10th most among the 2014 NCAA Field of 64.

“I’m very proud of our team for doing what they had to do so it counted in March,” Caldwell said. “With Georgia Tech playing in the ACC, they’re a very seasoned team. I know they’re going to be competitive. They are a defensive-minded team with a balanced attack, and so are we. It’s just going to be about who is going to come out and capitalize on their game plan.”

Sunday’s contest marks the Lady Tigers first meeting with Georgia Tech (20-11) on the hardwood. LSU is one of eight SEC teams, while the Yellow Jackets are one of eight ACC squads which are tied for the most among the 2014 NCAA Tournament field.

All-session ticket books, single-session ticket and group tickets are on-sale at http://www.lsutix.net/. Fans also have the opportunity to purchase tickets at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office located on the first floor of the LSU Athletic/Administration Building or by phone at (225) 578-2184.

Single-session tickets can be purchased at $16 for adults and $11 for youth. The single-session ticket allows admission into both first round games or the second round game only.
