BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s and women’s cross country teams have been recognized for their performance in the classroom by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as they have earned All-Academic Team honors from the organization for maintaining a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2013 cross country season.
The Tigers are among 160 men’s programs and the Lady Tigers are among 217 women’s programs being honored with the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award following the 2013 season.
LSU is also one of 146 schools nationwide to be honored for their academic performance on both the men’s and women’s sides. In total, 231 universities were recognized with at least one All-Academic Team award.
The Lady Tigers maintained an impressive 3.40 team GPA in 2013 while proving themselves among LSU’s top athletic programs in the classroom over the past year. The Tigers were impressive in their own right with the 3.25 team GPA they posted in 2013 en route to sweeping USTFCCCA All-Academic Team awards for the University.
