BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – LSU women’s basketball guard Raigyne Moncrief picked up her second SEC Freshman of the Week award of the season as announced Monday by the league office. She also won the honor after she earned Barclays Invitational Most Outstanding Player in December.
Moncrief provided 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game during last week’s action. She buried 50 percent of her field goal attempts and came away with 22 of her 30 points in the second half. The Florida native equaled a career-high with nine rebounds at No. 19 Texas A&M.
Moncrief has pieced together four consecutive games with at least 15 points and reached double figures in five of her last six appearances. Defensively, she has collected 16 steals over her last five games and moved into fifth place on the SEC list.
