Gymnastics Schedule Rated Among Nation's Toughest

BATON ROUGE – The 2014 LSU gymnastics schedule is listed as one of the Top 5 strongest schedules in collegiate gymnastics this season according to and

Both sites determined the strength of schedule by assigning a point value to every team ranked in the GymInfo coaches preseason Top 25.

Of LSU’s 12 regular-season meets, nine pit the Tigers against a team ranked in the coaches poll, and six feature at least one team ranked in the Top 10.

LSU, which is ranked No. 5 in the preseason poll, will compete against No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 Oklahoma twice in the regular season.

The Tigers will face a ranked opponent in every road meet this season: No. 8 Georgia on Jan. 17, No. 11 Arkansas on Feb. 7, Oklahoma on Feb. 9, Oklahoma, No. 17 Arizona and No. 21 Kentucky on Feb. 15, Florida on Feb. 21 and the SEC Championship on March 22.

LSU will host No. 13 Auburn on Jan. 24, Alabama on Jan. 31 and Kentucky on March 14.

Georgia was voted No. 1 in schedule strength by both sites.

LSU will open the 2014 season on Friday when the Tigers play host to Centenary at 7 p.m. CT inside the Maravich Center.
