Season Tickets for 2014 Campaign On Sale Now

BATON ROUGE – Season tickets for LSU softball’s upcoming 2014 campaign season are now on sale as the Tigers look to return to Oklahoma City and the Women’s College World Series under third-year coach Beth Torina.

Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.lsutix.net/, the official website of LSU Athletics. Ticket also can be purchased in person at the ticket office on the first floor of the Athletics Administration Building or by calling (225) 578-2184 or (800) 960-8587.   

LSU has already sold a program-record 724 season tickets and have sold out of chair-back seating for the fifth consecutive season. Limited bleacher seating in sections 101 and 107 located directly behind the first and third base dugouts are available for $75.

The Tigers shattered a program record attendance for the seventh straight season in 2013 as 46,354 fans passed through the gates over 32 home dates. LSU also recorded four Top 10 crowds at Tiger Park last season which included a program three-game SEC series mark of 7,799 fans during the three-game sweep of Alabama. The Tigers have posted a 9-1 mark when playing in-front of a Top 10 crowd.

LSU’s 2014 marquee home slate features 15 games against 2013 NCAA Tournament teams. The Tigers play host to Women’s College World Series participant Texas on opening night. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6.

LSU welcomes two more 2013 Women’s College World Series foes in Florida (March 14-16) and national runner-up Tennessee (April 4-6) for three-game SEC series’ in addition to NCAA Tournament participants Georgia (April 11-13) and Mississippi State (May 2-4).   

Individual game tickets will go on-sale on Monday, February 3. LSU students, faculty and staff receive free admission to all regular season home game with a valid LSU ID.

LSU finished its second season under Torina with the program’s 15th 40-win season since softball was reinstated in 1997. The Tigers are slated to return 14 letterwinners sparked by A.J. Andrews, an NFCA All-America Third-Team and All-SEC First-Team selection, along with Bianka Bell and Jacee Blades, a pair of 2013 All-SEC Second-Team picks. Bell also earned 2013 SEC Freshman of the Year honors.
