BATON ROUGE -- LSU football head coach Les Miles looked ahead to Saturday's matchup against Kent State and recapped his team's 56-17 victory over UAB during his weekly press conference on Monday.

DE Jermauria Rasco

On finding their roles…
“Right now, Coach is letting the young guys go out and play. It’s making a big impact in the first two games and the guys have been working their tails off. We know what to what to do and the standard is and we will continue to work.”

On halftime adjustments…
“Coach tried to play a lot of guys that will have a major impact on the season. We tried to make sure we put a stop to their points and we tried to get the first shutout of the season but it didn’t work out that way. We will continue to work hard and do what we can to improve for next week.”

WR Jarvis Landry

On trying to get a balance offensively…
“Being so successful in the passing game is really keeping teams off guard. People that are watching film don’t really know what to expect. That is our key to keep raising the bar.”

On how Zach Mettenberger improves game to game…
“His growth has grown with his production. As we progress through the season he will do things even better. A guy who broke the record in the stadium still believes he could have done even more to help the offensive improve. It’s him buying into the system and he’s done a great job. I walked in today and he was already in the quarterback room. His commitment to the program is unmatched.”

WR Odell Beckham Jr.

On expecting the other wide receivers to emerge…
“We have guys like Travin Dural, Kadron Boone and James Wright who are great players. Other teams are going to try and focus on Jarvis (Landry). We have other receivers who are equally as good and can make the plays but haven’t had the exact opportunities.”

On being compred to Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson in the return game …
“To be even compared to guys like Tyrann and Patrick is such an honor. They are guys that I looked up to in terms of the return game. Tyrann taught me so much about the return game and from watching Patrick I’ve learned so much. It’s great to be mentioned with them.”
