BATON ROUGE - The LSU softball team played host to its fourth-annual meet and greet event for the program's diamond backer and season ticket holders Thursday inside the Legends Club of the LSU Basketball Practice Facility.
The program began with an introduction of the players, the coaching staff and their families in addition to the support staff that works day-to-day with the Tigers.
Each player was responsible for a different segment of the 90-minute program which included a question-and-answer session about favorite uniform combinations, sharing their memorable moments from the team's run to the 2012 Women's College World Series, an explanation of the team's new theme for this season "Rule the Day" and the privilege of what it means to them to represent the state of Louisiana and LSU Athletics.
The event wrapped up with a sneak preview of the team's 2013 intro video and the singing of the Alma Mater.
"Our meet and greet event is always special because it's way for us to give back to our diamond backers and season ticket holders," head coach Beth Torina said. "We can't thank them enough for the support and energy they give us. They play a major role in making the atmosphere at Tiger Park second to none."
LSU is eight days away from 2013 opening weekend where the Tigers will play host to Hampton, No. 22 North Carolina, Purdue and Tulsa as part of the Tiger Classic from February 8-10.
Season tickets can be purchased for $75 at www.LSUtix.net for a marquee home schedule that features 15 games against 2012 NCAA Tournament participants. The Tigers also will welcome defending national champion Alabama along with Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina for three-game SEC series.
