BATON ROUGE - Junior Natoya Goule certainly made the most of her 800-meter debut for the Lady Tigers as she emerged from Saturday's race as the NCAA leader in the event while claiming her first SEC Women's Runner of the Week honor from the Southeastern Conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Goule is the second Lady Tiger in as many weeks to be chosen the SEC Women's Runner of the Week as she joins senior standout Kimberlyn Duncan as being honored for her performance.

Goule, a three-time junior college 800-meter national champion during her brilliant two-year career at the South Plains College from 2011-12, established herself as an NCAA title threat in the event following her first 800-meter race as a Lady Tiger while winning the Razorback Invitational crown on Saturday.

Goule joined senior teammate Charlene Lipsey in a battle for the event title as she smashed her indoor PR by more than two seconds with a season-opening run of 2 minutes, 3.49 seconds to claim the No. 1 spot in the NCAA rankings for 2013. The Lady Tigers actually produced to NCAA's two fastest times in the race as Lipsey also clocked an indoor personal best of 2:03.76 for second place.

A native of Clarendon, Jamaica, Goule quickly becomes the No. 2-ranked 800-meter runner on LSU's all-time indoor performance list in the event following her season-opening race in the event.

Not only that, but Goule also anchored the Lady Tigers to a season's best time in the 4x400-meter relay as she split a team-leading 52.41 seconds on a squad that clocked 3:36.45 for fourth place. Goule anchored a team that also featured senior Siedda Herbert, Lipsey and sophomore Montenae Roye-Speight. Their time of 3:36.45 is currently the sixth-fastest time in the NCAA for the 2013 season.
