Women's Golf Sixth Through Two Rounds at Tar Heel

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The LSU women's golf team is tied for sixth place after two rounds of the Ruth's Chris Lady Tar Heel Invitational Saturday at the Finley Golf Course.

LSU posted a 14-over 302 on the second day of the three-day tournament and is at 20-over 596 (294-302), tied with Ole Miss (299-297). While host North Carolina has opened a huge lead after shooting a 5-over 293 on the second day to stand at 5-over for the tournament, second place is just five shots in front of LSU in the 15-over par score of 591 by Baylor. Florida is third at 17-over 593, with North Carolina State and Virginia at 19-over 595 in a tie for fourth.

Individually, Lindsay Gahm remained in seventh place after a 2-over 74 and stands in a group tied at 1-over 145. Hayley Davis of Baylor is the leader at 4-under 140 (67-73). Madelene Sagstrom is also in position for a good finish after a round of even par 72 Saturday. She is tied for 14th place at 2-over 146.

LSU also counted a 3-over 75 from junior Ali Lucas and a 9-over 81 from Nadine Dreher.

Gahm is also trying for back-to-back top 10 finishes after getting her first last weekend in the NCAA Fall Preview in Athens, Ga.
