Roye-Speight to Represent LSU at SAAC Fall Conference
BATON ROUGE - Montenae Roye-Speight of the LSU's track and field program will be traveling to this weekend's 2012 SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting held in Birmingham, Alabama.
"I am really looking forward to representing all of the LSU athletes this weekend," Roye-Speight said. "Over these two days, I hope to acquire knowledge from other schools that will best benefit our athletes, which will in turn benefit our school."
The SEC SAAC, which represents diverse views and backgrounds of student-athletes, was established in 1992 to serve as a medium of communication through which student-athletes, conference administrators, institutional representatives and coaches discuss and take action on issues relating to rules governance, student-athlete welfare and community service.
President of LSU's SAAC, Madie Jones said that the conference is a great means of communication between all the SEC schools.
"Here at LSU we have benefitted every semester by sending SAAC representatives to share and compare with the other committees about the things we have accomplished and the things we want to improve," Jones said. "Montenae will do a great job representing our committee, and I'm excited to hear the feedback she brings from this year's conference."
