BATON ROUGE - The LSU gymnastics team honored the accomplishments of the 2012 season at the annual team reception Friday night in the Royal Cotillion Ballroom inside the LSU Student Union.
Head coach D-D Breaux, associate head coach Jay Clark, assistant coach Bob Moore and volunteer assistant coach Ashleigh Clare-Kearney honored gymnasts for their academic and athletic achievements both in the conference and nationally.
All 15 members of the 2012 squad received letter awards, while Rheagan Courville, Lloimincia Hall, Ashley Lee and Sarie Morrison were awarded a framed certificate and crystal vase for earning All-America honors.
Courville, Hall, Lee and Jessie Jordan were honored as All-SEC performers as each received an SEC medallion, and Hall was awarded her ring as the SEC Floor Exercise champion.
Not only was she recognized for her academic achievements by earning SEC Honor Roll and Scholastic All-America honors, but Lainie Fleming was also selected as the winner of the Most Improved Award.
Sarie Morrison received the prestigious Dee Dee Fulmer Gilbert Award, presented annually to the gymnast who consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
The Tigers resume fall practice Saturday morning as they work toward the first team intrasqaud meet on Oct. 12.
