BATON ROUGE -- Eight members of the LSU gymnastics team used the Mardi Gras break to visit patients at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital Wednesday morning.

Rheagan Courville, Kaleigh Dickson, Casey Duvall, Ericka Garcia, Jessie Jordan, Sarie Morrison, Sidney Sanabria-Robles and Britney Taylor took part in the community service trip.

The gymnasts walked room to room visiting all the patients that could have visitors, and the gymnasts handed out team posters while they encouraged the children and interacted with the families.

"It's always a good feeling to make the kids smile when they are having a rough day," Morrison said.

"It was great to see the little kids smiling while we visited with them," Dickson said. "As a team we hope we were able to make their day a little brighter today."

LSU returns home to the Maravich Center for a dual meet Friday at 7 p.m. CT against third-ranked Alabama.
