GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The 14th-ranked LSU gymnastics team scored a 49.050 or higher on all four events as the Tigers shattered their season high with a 196.850 Friday night in front of 8,112 fans inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center at No. 4 Florida.

The Gators won the meet 197.850-196.850, and the 196.850 marked the highest score for LSU ever in Gainesville, beating the 196.325 the Tigers earned in 2008.

It is also the highest score in a meet for LSU since the Tigers went 197.150 on March 12, 2010 against Iowa, and it is LSU's best score against an SEC foe since Feb. 8, 2008 when the Tigers posted a 197.050 to defeat Auburn and West Virginia in a home meet. It is the highest score on the road against an SEC opponent since March 2, 2007 when LSU scored a 196.875 at Alabama.

"It was a hard meet because our girls were a little tired, but they fought through it to perform well," head coach D-D Breaux said. "There's still room for improvement and places we can get better, so I'm very excited and encouraged with how we fought and performed all night and where we can go from here."

LSU (2-7, 2-3 SEC) tallied season highs on beam with a 49.350 and bars with a 49.150, and the Tigers registered a 49.300 on vault and 49.050 on floor. It marked the first time LSU scored at least a 49.0 on all four events in one meet since Feb. 18, 2011 against Georgia in Baton Rouge. The last time LSU accomplished that feat in an SEC road meet was Feb. 13, 2009 at Alabama.

The Tigers opened the meet on bars and welcomed back Sarie Morrison who had missed the last two meets after recovering from foot surgery. Morrison led the team with a season-best 9.875 on bars, followed by Rheagan Courville's 9.85. Randi Lau set a season high with a 9.825, and Lloimincia Hall also earned a 9.825. Lainie Fleming scored a career-high 9.775 to round out the Tigers' top five scores in the event.

LSU tied its second-highest vault score of the season with a 49.300, led by Courville's 9.925 and Jessie Jordan's season-high tying 9.875. Kaleigh Dickson and Hall both tallied 9.85's, and Ashley Lee picked up a 9.80, her 18th meet in a row with at least a 9.80 in the event dating back to the 2010 season.

Hall tied her season-high for the third time with a 9.90 on floor to pace LSU in the event, and Lau set a season high with a 9.825. Jordan also tallied a 9.825, Dickson scored a 9.80 and Courville recorded a 9.70 as the Tigers finished with a 49.050.

LSU finished the meet in style with an outstanding 49.350 on beam, the team's highest score in the event since March 13, 2005 when the Tigers earned a 49.550 at Texas Woman's.

Five of the six LSU competitors on beam either tied or set career highs against the Gators. Courville captured her second beam title and ninth individual title of the season with a season-high tying 9.925 to lead the team. Jordan tied her season high for the third time this year with a 9.875, and Hall set a new season high with a 9.875. Ericka Garcia tied her career best with a 9.85, and Dickson tied her career high with a 9.825.

Hall took second in the all-around with a 39.450, tying Courville for the highest all-around score in a meet this season for LSU. Courville finished in a tie for third in the all-around with a 39.400, and Jordan missed her season high in the all-around by .025 as she scored a 39.275.

Florida (7-1, 3-1) was led by junior Ashanée Dickerson who won the all-around title with a 39.600 as well as freshman Kytra Hunter who earned a 9.975 on floor, 9.925 on beam and 9.90 on vault.

LSU will step out of conference competition for the first time in five weeks when the Tigers travel to Seattle, Wash., to face the 20th-ranked Washington Huskies on Feb. 17 at 9 p.m. CT.
