BATON ROUGE -- At 8-0 entering its bye week, LSU impressed the voters in the USA Today Coaches' Poll with a dominating 45-10 victory over then-No. 19 Auburn.

The coaches voted LSU No. 1 for the first time this season after Oklahoma lost at home to Texas Tech, 41-38.

LSU (8-0, 5-0 SEC) held its No. 1 ranking in the Bowl Championship Series standings, the AP Top 25 and the Harris Interactive Poll, as the Tigers enter a bye week before facing No. 2 Alabama on Nov. 5 in Tuscaloosa.
