BATON ROUGE - Jason Garrett, the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, headlines this year's LSU Football Coaching Clinic, which runs from Thursday, March 31 through Saturday, April 2 on the LSU campus.

Garrett, who posted a 5-3 mark as the interim head coach of the Cowboys in 2010, had the interim tag removed on Jan. 5. Garrett is the first person in franchise history to both play for and serve as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Garrett played quarterback for the Cowboys from 1993-99, serving as the backup to Troy Aikman for three Super Bowl title teams.

"We are very excited about bringing Jason to campus for our annual coaching clinic," LSU coach Les Miles said. "Jason has a tremendous offensive mind so we are looking forward to hearing his thoughts on the game of football with us."

Garrett will address the group at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, April 1 at the LSU Football Operations Facility.

The 2011 clinic includes high school state championship coaches from Louisiana, Texas, Alabama and Florida.

Featured speakers from the LSU coaching staff include first-year offensive coordinator Steve Kragthorpe and strength and conditioning coordinator Tommy Moffitt.

Registration for the clinic begins at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 at LSU Football Operations Center. Following LSU's football practice that day, LSU coach Les Miles will welcome the coaches at 7 p.m. at the football operations center followed by breakout sessions by position at 7:15. A barbeque dinner will be served on Thursday night.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1 at the LSU Football Indoor Facility with the clinic beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a presentation by Moffitt.

Miles will address the group at 4:30 p.m. on Friday followed by Garrett at 1:30. Friday's activities will conclude with a crawfish boil.

The clinic wraps up on Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. with an LSU football scrimmage in Tiger Stadium.

The registration fee for the clinic is $40, which includes meals. Interested coaches should contact Lois Stuckey in the LSU football office at (225) 578-1151 or visit www.LSUsports.net for more information.
