The event serves as a tailgate party for the fourth annual Etta James Memorial gymnastics meet Feb. 18 between LSU and SEC rival Georgia. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Committee members include Annie Alleva, D-D Breaux, Sylvia Duke, Gail Gaiennie, Debbie Heroman, Tammye "Ya'el" Lofton, Elise Kaufman, Aimee Simon, Lois Stuckey, and Sandy Young.
Foundation 56 was founded by James, who lost his mother, Etta, to breast cancer in 2002. Since that time James has made a personal pledge to help in the fight against the disease. James began the Foundation 56/Soul Survivors Fund with the specific purpose of supporting breast cancer awareness and screenings.
