BATON ROUGE - Former LSU running back Orlando Gunn spoke to a group of 4th graders Wednesday at Dalton Elementary School as they prepare for their LEAP testing at the end of the month.
Gunn touched upon the connection between school and sports along with the principle of how you have to do well in school in order to be able to go to college and play a sport. He also encouraged the students to work hard to fulfill their dreams and focus on their upcoming test. Afterwards, Gunn answered questions from the students.
"My way of giving back to kids is telling them what no one told me growing up," Gunn said. "I want to give kids a hand in capturing the dreams of their choice as well as give them the confidence to believe in themselves. I enjoyed pumping up the kids for their LEAP test because it's a valuable stepping stone to making the next grade which ultimately is helping them achieve their dreams."
LSU is in the midst of spring practice in preparation for the LSU National L Club Spring on March 27 at Tiger Stadium.
