BATON ROUGE -- LSU officials are encouraging Tiger football fans to utilize Burbank Drive to exit south of campus following football games after heavy traffic buildups on Nicholson Drive near the Lee/Brightside intersection after the Vanderbilt game last week.
Also, motorists on River Road who are traveling to Interstate 10 are encouraged to stay in the right hand lane of River Road when traveling south and proceed to Gardere Lane where they can turn east to Nicholson Drive.
After last week’s Vanderbilt game, southbound traffic on Nicholson Drive converging with eastbound traffic on Brightside Drive caused lengthy delays. No routes are being changed for the Louisiana-Lafayette game, but fans are strongly encouraged to follow this advisory.
- Vehicles leaving campus via Nicholson Drive are encouraged to use Burbank Drive to proceed south. Vehicles can reach Interstate 10 by proceeding south to Bluebonnet Blvd.
- Local traffic only should proceed south on Nicholson Drive.
- Vehicles leaving campus via River Road are encouraged to stay in the right hand lane of the contra-flow traffic on River Road and turn left on Gardere Lane to reach Nicholson Drive. Vehicles can then reach Interstate 10 by turning right onto Nicholson then left onto Bluebonnet Blvd.
- Local traffic only should stay in the left hand lane of River Road to turn left onto Brightside.
