BATON ROUGE -- LSU’s BCS National Championship media guide was voted as the second best postseason guide in the nation, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced in the organization’s yearly contest.
The 140-page media guide was written and edited by Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette and designed by Publications Director Jason Feirman and Graphic Design Coordinator Krystal Bennett with photography by Steve Franz, Feirman and Alex Restrepo.
The guide serves as a complete source of up-to-date information, including updated bios, notes, records and bowl history, on the 2007 team heading into the BCS National Championship game.
Media guides are a source of information for media outlets and fellow sports information offices as well as an important recruiting tool for coaches.
Oklahoma’s bowl guide was voted as the best in the nation and also received best cover.  Missouri’s bowl guide placed third.
The BCS National Championship guide’s accolade adds to an already outstanding year for LSU publications.
Of the 15 media guides LSU produced this year, seven earned top-five rankings including two “Best in the Nation” guides (women’s basketball and men’s tennis). The results for baseball and softball media guides have yet to be released.
In addition, LSU’s football game program earned best cover honors and was ranked seventh in the nation.
