BATON ROUGE -- The 2007 LSU Football GameDay Program was awarded Best Cover in the Nation from the College Sports Information Directors of America.
This award comes from a publications department that has earned the honor of Best Cover in various sports for both the media guides and programs every year but one since the 2002-2003 season.
Working on the 2007 football programs were associate sports information Director and editor Bill Franques, sports information director Michael Bonnette, publications director Jason Feirman and photographer Steve Franz. Feirman handled the layout and design of the game program, while Franques was responsible for content.
All 2007 LSU Football GameDay programs were produced by LSU Sports Properties and printed by Branch-Smith Printing.
An LSU senior took center stage for each of the seven game programs during the 2007 season. The covers focused on exhibiting the personal attributes of each of those players. The programs also featured stories on the players in addition to game notes, statistics and lineups.
The program for Virginia Tech featured all of the Tigers running onto the field, Matt Flynn debuted on the cover against Middle Tennessee, Ali Highsmith earned the honor against South Carolina, while Craig Steltz, Jonathan Zenon and Chevis Jackson showed that seniors reign supreme on the cover of the Auburn program. Jacob Hester made the cover of the Louisiana Tech, Glenn Dorsey’s piercing eyes glared from the cover of the Florida program and Early Doucet graced the final cover against Arkansas.
“Having a great GameDay program is just one of those integral parts of the experience of a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium,” Feirman said. “Each book’s cover honors the outstanding senior football players and gives LSU fans a keepsake to hold onto for years to come.”
Three pre-selected outside judges scored the program in categories including rosters, schedule, player photos, coach and player profiles, lineups, features, game notes and others.

The award will be presented at the CoSIDA annual convention in San Diego in July. CoSIDA is an organization focused on inspiring Sports Information Directors in their roles in the sports information profession.
