Merritt Joins Men's Basketball Staff

BATON ROUGE – Coach Will Wade announced Tuesday that Brian Merritt will be a part of the LSU men’s basketball staff for the 2017-18 season.

Merritt, most recently serving as Director of Scouting/Recruiting for John Lucas Enterprises, will have the title of Coordinator of Basketball Operations.

“We look forward to having Brian Merritt join our basketball staff,” said LSU Coach Will Wade. “His work on several different levels, including most recently for John Lucas, will help us as a staff do what is necessary for the success of the LSU program.”

Merritt, who walked on at Towson before moving to Louisville where he served as Graduate Assistant (2003-05) and Director of Basketball Operations (2005-06) before also service as assistant coach at Hampton (2006-07), Texas A&M Corpus Christi (2007-10) and Arizona State (2015-16). This was his second stint with John Lucas Enterprises.

“I am extremely excited to work with Coach Wade and the staff he has assembled here in Baton Rouge,” Merritt said.
